Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between saddle stitch and perfect bound?
Saddle stitch uses staples through the spine and is ideal for booklets up to 64 pages. Perfect binding uses a glued square spine, giving a book-like appearance — best for 48+ pages. Both are available in A5 and A4.
What page counts are available?
Saddle-stitch booklets must be in multiples of 4 pages (e.g. 8, 12, 16, up to 64). Perfect-bound booklets can be any page count from 48 upwards.
Are booklets zero-rated for VAT?
Yes — booklets, brochures and catalogues are zero-rated for VAT under HMRC Group 3, provided they are not used as stationery or for advertising a single product.
Can I supply separate cover and inner artwork?
Yes — we accept separate cover and inner files. Cover artwork should include front, back and spine (for perfect bound). Our team will check your files before printing.
